A ship-breaking worker died in Bangladesh .

A hip-breaking worker died by electrocution while making a barge illegally in a ship-breaking factory named Bhatiari Steel in Chittagong. He was died around 3:30 am on 20 May. The deceased identified as Md. Manik (35) of Raypur Upazila of Laxmipur.

Police told that, a ship-breaking factory only has the permission to make scrape. But the owner forced workers to make barge. Delwar Hossain, Officer In-charge (OC) of Sitakundo police station informed that, Manik was welding on that factory till the evening on the day.

A factory inspector pointed out that, the still mill factory doesn’t have permission to make ship or barge. Polash kumar Dash, inspector in chittaogram of the institute said, there was no permission of breaking ship or barge in this factory. They will inspect the matter. The owner may be jail for 4 years or fine take 5 lacks or both if he proved to be guilty.
